TV Remote

for Roku TVs

A remote that runs right in your browser. It works in Chrome or Edge on a PC or Android phone, on the same Wi-Fi as the TV; iPhones, Safari and Firefox block it.

Setup 3 steps, once per TV
  1. On the TV, set Settings → System → Advanced system settings → Control by mobile apps → Network access to Enabled. (On Limited, only the HDMI buttons work.)
  2. Find the TV's address at Settings → Network → About. It looks like 192.168.1.50.
  3. Type it below and press Check. The first time, the browser asks to let this site reach devices on your local network. That's how it talks to the TV: press Allow.

NOTES

This page only talks to the address you type, straight from your browser. Nothing passes through this site's server.

The TV can't answer back to a web page, so "sent" means the press went out and something at that address answered. It can't tell whether the TV actually did it.

On a Mac, the browser also needs System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network turned on.

The permission covers this whole site, not just this page. To take it back: click the icon to the left of the address bar, then Reset permissions.
